If you have been diagnosed with Diabetes, first thing, which comes in management is lifestyle modification, and physical activity is one of the cornerstones in the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes.

• Staying active is one of the most effective ways to manage diabetes.

• Exercise helps lower blood sugar levels and makes your body more sensitive to insulin.

• Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate activity, like brisk walking, cycling, or swimming, five days a week.
• If you’re new to exercising, start slow-try 10-15 minutes a day and gradually increase. Even small movements, like stretching, gardening, or using stairs instead of elevators, can make a big difference.

• Always monitor how your body feels during exercise, especially if you’re on medication, and keep a quick source of sugar, like glucose tablets, nearby in case your blood sugar drops.

• Increase your step count by remaining mobile throughout the day for example a 10minute brisk walk after major meals is a good idea. Even a 500 steps/day increase can prevent heart disease risk by great extent.

• Sleep well- prefer to sleep around the same time each day n manage 6-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep in a day.

• Resistance Training/Strength Training- Engage in atleast twice a week muscle strengthening exercises with your own body weight or external weight to improve insulin resistance and reduce chances of fatty liver.

• Consult your doctor before starting a new routine, and remember, consistency is the key to success. Start small and be consistent.
