Treatment of Headaches
Everyone has experienced headache at some point of time in their life, irrespective of age, sex and race. According to one of the reports of WHO, almost half of the world adult population suffer from headache every year.Causes of headache can vary from emotional distress to medical disorder such as migraine, high blood pressure, anxiety and depression. Headache can occur in any part of your head, it can occur in one side or both side of the head. On the basis of causes headache can be defined as primary and secondary headache.
Primary Headache
Primary headaches are stand-alone illnesses caused directly by the overactivity of, or problems with, structures in the head that are pain-sensitive. This includes the blood vessels, muscles, and nerves of the head and neck. They may also result from changes in chemical activity in the brain. Common primary headaches include migraines, cluster headaches, and tension headaches.
Secondary Headache
When some other underlying medical condition stimulates the pain receptor than it is called secondary headache.
There are different types of headache:
- Tension type headache
- Rebound headache
- Migraine
